A VISIT TO THE POLISH CENTER
Limited to the first 10 members who register.
The Polish Center of Discovery and Learning, a place to discover and learn new things about Poland and its people, was officially established at Elms College in February 1999. It is a living monument that celebrates the many contributions, both past and present, made to the economy, arts, and sciences of our nation by Polish people and their descendants. The mission of the Center is to preserve objects representative of the material culture of the Polish people in America and to provide guidance and support materials to schools and other institutions wishing to introduce Polish topics to their students.
Don’t miss the chance to see twenty creches from Poland on display during the holiday season, along with other examples of Polish folk art, costumes, and artifacts that exhibit the rich heritage of Polish peoples.
Those who sign up will be provided with a map to the Polish Center and the Munich House restaurant.

ANNUAL MEMORIAL PROGRAM
No registration is necessary.
Join your fellow LIR members in remembering those whom we have lost during the past year. We appreciate the many talents of these folks who have helped make our organization so interesting and informative. Refreshments will be served.

TOUR OF THE CALVIN COOLIDGE PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY AND MUSEUM
The Coolidge Presidential Library and Museum at Forbes Library collects, preserves and makes available research materials which document the public and private life of Calvin Coolidge (1872 – 1939). Manuscripts, artifacts and exhibits cover his political career from Northampton to Boston to the White House and his post presidential years as a Northampton resident. The collection also includes materials related to Grace Goodhue Coolidge (1879 – 1957) and sons John and Calvin Jr.

TOUR OF THE BENESKI MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY
The Beneski Museum of Natural History at Amherst College is one of New England’s largest natural history museums with three floors of exhibits and more than 1,700 specimens on display. These include fossils from fish to dinosaurs, rocks and minerals from around the world, and meteorites from beyond. The museum houses an extraordinary collection of dinosaur footprints, mainly from the surrounding Connecticut River Valley, with exhibits that show the local ecology and landscape at the time dinosaurs walked the earth.

TOUR OF THE GAZETTE NEWSPAPERS
Limited to the first 20 members who register.
Last year we had two excellent and informative tours of the Gazette and some of you wanted to join us, but were unable to do so. Once again this tour of the Gazette is your chance to see the creation of a newspaper from the raw ideas of the reporters to the final printed copy. The tour will start with a short history of the Gazette, followed by a walk through the plant, usually stopping to chat with some staff along the way. We will end up back at the conference room for any a questions and/or comments.
